It's rare in the military that an active duty husband and wife get the opportunity to share a retirement ceremony. This was not only special to me and Jim, but to our family and the many people we worked with throughout our careers.

Jim was a Communications/Navigation system Specialist working the HF, VLF/VHFradio systems, satellite communication systems and radar systems of the jet. After climbing the ranks, he became a production supervisor over 3 different Aircraft Maintenance units.

I was a Electro-environmental systems Specialist...being an electrician, I nearly worked every aspect of the jet and then some...the environmental portion of my job was maintaining the oxygen, pressurization, air/heat, and fire extinguishing systems of the jet.

We sat at the front in the place of honor with Colonel Gapinski. He is a truly wonderful man.  He was happy to officiate our ceremony since he knew us so well during our 10 years at Offutt.
